Hello,
I’m Laura Parker the Devon County Commissioner from January 2024 and I’m super excited to be working with members and volunteers who continue to deliver amazing opportunities to our girls week in week out.
I live in Plympton, near Plymouth where I have been lucky to share fantastic Girlguiding opportunities with many wonderful volunteers and girls! I help run a guide unit, one I haven’t left since I was a teenager myself, I also look after a small Girlguiding shop which fulfils my childhood ambition of being a shopkeeper and what better goods to sell than badges?!
At home I have a very patient and understanding husband Ryan and my 12 year old son Riley, Cooper the Cocker Spaniel pup has also recently joined our family and brought lots of fun and chaos. I work full time from home in IT for a utilities company in a role I really enjoy. I love organising events and family gatherings and watching Riley play football rain or shine!
Working as part of the amazing Devon County team I am looking forward to visiting lots of members across the county and supporting our wonderful volunteers in helping girls know they can do anything.
