Tavy Division encompasses the ancient Stannary and Market town of Tavistock and the surrounding villages of Bere Alston and Yelverton.

Nestled on the banks of the river Tavy and on the very edge of Dartmoor, there is plenty to see and do in the local area.  Tavistock is the Eastern Gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape.  The birth place of Sir Frances Drake and home to the Devon Cream Tea! The Pannier market and independent shops are a big draw along with the lovely Meadows park situated alongside the river.

Girlguiding in Tavy

Girlguiding has been part of life in Tavy for over 100years.  Currently the town has 2 Rainbow, 2 Brownie and a Guide Unit.  Bere Alston and Yelverton both have active Rainbows and Brownies.

Girls in the Division can achieve badges whilst taking part in a wide range of activities, from craft, cooking and games to community action and trips, plus climbing, kayaking, sleepovers, pack holidays and camps.  The proximity to Dartmoor provides plenty of scope for outdoor pursuits.

There is an active Trefoil Guild and the Guide Hall is an historic building used by Guiding units and the wider Community.
