Additional information about programme & activities
What types of activities will be on offer?
The programme will include a mix of adventurous challenges, creative sessions, environmental activities, and fun team games. From climbing walls and obstacle courses to crafts, STEM, and nature trails, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Will there be different activities for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers?
Yes. Each section will have a tailored programme to make sure activities are safe, age-appropriate, and fun.

What about Rainbows?
We understand that overnight stays may not be suitable for all Rainbows, so we’re offering flexible options, including day visits or overnight stays (in both indoor and outdoor accommodation). While Rainbows won’t be able to take part in some of the more adventurous activities due to Girlguiding guidance, we’re designing a programme of engaging and age-appropriate alternatives to ensure they have a wonderful experience.

Can girls choose their own activities or are they in set groups?
A bit of both. Some activities will be done in unit groups, while others will offer choice so girls can pick what interests them most. Full details will be shared nearer the time.
What evening activities are planned?
Saturday evening will bring the whole camp together for a big celebration, with music, campfire fun, and group entertainment. Friday evening will include welcome activities to help everyone settle in and make new friends.
Will there be activities on both Saturday and Sunday?
Yes! Camp EPIC is packed full of adventurous activities — from climbing, canoeing, and high ropes to caving, zip wires, and much more. There’ll be opportunities to take part in lots of different activities across the weekend, with sessions running on both Saturday and Sunday. Our goal is to make sure everyone gets to try new things, challenge themselves, and have fun — the spirit of Empower, Participate, Imagine and Challenge in action!
Will all the girls get to try everything?
The programme is designed so every participant has the chance to experience a wide variety of activities across the weekend.
What happens if an activity gets cancelled (e.g. weather)?
We’ll have wet-weather and contingency options ready, so the fun doesn’t stop even if the weather isn’t on our side.
Are the activities suitable for all abilities?
Inclusion is a key part of our planning. We’ll adapt activities wherever possible to make sure everyone can join in and enjoy themselves. Further information about special conditions can be found here.
What if a girl doesn’t want to do a particular activity?
No one will ever be forced to take part. Leaders and activity staff will gently encourage girls to try new things, but there will always be alternatives if something feels overwhelming.

Are the activities run by qualified instructors?
Yes. Specialist and adventurous activities will be delivered by trained and qualified providers, supported by our own Girlguiding volunteers.
How is safety managed during adventurous activities?
Every activity will be risk assessed, run by trained staff, and supervised by leaders. Safety equipment will always be provided, and activities will only take place under the right conditions.
Will there be quieter/creative options as well as adventurous ones?
Absolutely. Alongside high-energy challenges, there will be plenty of chances to get creative, relax with friends, and enjoy quieter activities.
Do girls need to bring any special kit for activities?
No specialist kit is required. A full kit list will be shared in advance so everyone knows what to bring. Any activity-specific equipment (like helmets, harnesses, or craft supplies) will be provided.
Are activities included in the camp fee, or are there extras to pay for?
All activities are included in the camp fee. There will be no hidden extras.
Will girls earn badges for taking part in activities?
Yes. Every participant will receive a special Camp EPIC 2026 badge, and many of the activities will also link to Girlguiding programme badges. Leaders will be given details to share with their units afterwards.
What happens on Saturday evening?
Saturday night is all about coming together as one camp. We’re planning a big evening of entertainment, with something for everyone — from music and campfire fun to games and activities that bring the whole site alive. It will be a chance to relax, celebrate, and make memories with friends old and new. Full details will be shared nearer the time, but you can expect an unforgettable evening that captures the true spirit of Camp EPIC.
Will there be a campfire?
Yes! Evening activities will include traditional Girlguiding camp fun such as songs, storytelling, and group activities.
