What is Camp EPIC 2026? 

Camp EPIC is our very own county camp. It is a fantastic opportunity for girls, leaders, and our wider Girlguiding Devon Community (including Trefoil and Inspire) to enjoy adventure activities, camping and lots of fun in a safe and inclusive environment. Please use the online booking form to reserve your place(s).

Event Date: Friday 4th to Sunday 6th September 2026   

Venue: River Dart Country Park  

Who can attend? 
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, leaders, all volunteers, Inspire members, and Trefoil Guild.

What are the timings?
The camp will open at 5pm on Friday 4th September 2026 and end at 4pm on Sunday 6th September 2025. Day visitors (on the Saturday or Sunday) are from 9am until 4pm.

Accommodation & Kit

Where will the girls sleep?
Most units will camp outdoors in tents. Some limited indoor accommodation will be available for accessibility reasons and for our youngest members.

Do I need to provide my own tent?
Units will bring their own tents and equipment unless otherwise arranged.  Although we aim to support units or individuals without camping gear by providing tents where needed. 

What kit do participants need?
A full kit list will be shared in advance, including bedding, clothes, and camp essentials.

What should not be brought?
Electronics, valuables, and anything unsafe or unsuitable for a Girlguiding camp.

Tell me about the indoor sleeping arrangements? 
Indoor sleeping priority will be given to individual members with special needs or accessibility requirements. Followed then by Rainbow and Brownie units and their leaders requesting indoor accommodation on a 1st come 1st served basis.

Are all meals included?
Yes. The camp will be fully catered, with all dietary requirements accommodated.

Yes. We’ll collect dietary information in advance and ensure options are available.

Do participants need to bring snacks?
No, meals and snacks will be provided.

Accessibility and Inclusion

What accessible facilities are there on site?
River Dart Country Park welcomes all people in society, irrespective of age, physical, intellectual or sensory ability. We will do everything possible to ensure a safe and pleasurable stay. Paths and access ways are designed and built to be wide and level or slightly sloping, with hard surfacing wherever possible or appropriate.

What accessible activities will there be?
River Dart Country Park offers accessible activities such as scenic walks along the river, a ground-level play fort for wheelchairs (with assistance), and a sandy Beach area. There are also accessible pathways for walking, though some specific adventure activities like the assault course, zip wires, and most of the Dare Devils activities are not suitable for wheelchairs. Can we request accessible sleeping arrangements?
Yes – we want Camp Epic to be as accessible and inclusive as possible. If you need accessible sleeping arrangements, you can request these on the booking form. Please include details of what you require so we can make sure the right facilities are available. Is there a quiet space available?
Yes, calm spaces will be available at the event. Ear defenders are permitted.

Are toilets and accessible facilities available?
Yes, the venue is wheelchair-accessible and there are accessible toilets available. There are also gender-neutral toilets.  

Will there be arrangements for members with special dietary needs?
Catering ingredients are readily available and staff will make special preparations We will be reaching out to units as part of the booking process to understand special dietary needs.

Travel and logistics

Is transport provided?
Units must arrange their own travel to Camp Epic 2026.

Is there coach or car parking?
Car parking at River Dart Country Park is included with your entry price, while coaches must call in advance to reserve a space. 

Blue Badge Spaces: There are five Blue Badge spaces located in the lower-level car park and by Holne Park House Reception, available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

After Camp

Will there be photos or videos?
Yes – we’d love to capture memories from Camp Epic. Please remember that some parents/carers may not have given photo consent for their girls, so try to focus on your own unit only and take care not to include others in the background. We’d love you to share the photos you do take with the camp team so we can celebrate the event together.
